PARKING SITES (See below)
We highly encourage you to make arrangements to be dropped off at the start end if at all possible.
FINISH-SITE parking: Plenty of parking will be available at the finish end. There should be ample room near the Texas Rowing Center along Stephen F. Austin Drive, under the Mo-Pac bridge on the south shore (on Stratford) across from the Texas Rowing Center, and at Deep Eddy Pool.
Please do not park in the Austin High School parking lot. AHS lot is reserved for activities at the h.s. Thank you.
The University of Texas will allow participants to park along Hearn Street, next to the Colorado Apartments. Entry into the rest of Colorado complex will not be permitted.
Please note that there will be no parking on Red Bud Isle. Traffic will be also be very limited there. In order to prevent clogging in that small area we ask that, if you are being dropped off, you use an alternate nearby drop-off site. We suggest you use either Kermit Street as a drop off point or the LCRA parking lot (see map above).
START-SITE parking (see map above): Near the start, through the generous partnership of the University of Texas, parking will be available at Brackenridge Apartments along the northwest end of Kermit Street near Red Bud Trail, up to where it intersects with Nocona Street stop sign. Do not park past the stop sign or you may be towed.
Parking may also be permitted in the grassy area at the corner of Red Bud and Lake Austin Blvd and Kermit Street (enter from Kermit St.) between the old basketball court and the streets. Parking in either of these areas will allow you to access Red Bud Isle without having to cross any streets. Again: Do not enter or park elsewhere in Brackenridge complex. The University will tow any vehicles parked elsewhere in the Brackenridge complexes.
Similarly, through the generous partnership of the LCRA, the LCRA parking lot on Lake Austin Blvd. (just North of Red Bud Trail across from Mozarts approximately 600yd walk to Red Bud Isle) is available for drop-off or parking during the event. Please be extremely careful when walking across the bridge to Red Bud Isle. Keep to the south side on the pedestrial sidewalk. It is a very narrow bridge and drivers' visibility is limited in that area.
